After thorough cleaning and disinfection, the instrument will be wrapped so that it does not come into contact with the external environment and is then STERILISED by an\u00a0<strong>autoclave<\/strong>, which eliminates microorganisms by denaturing their proteins and other biomolecules.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Autoclave sterilisation<\/strong>\u00a0is the most widespread method, as it is inexpensive and non-toxic and has a good penetration capacity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sterilisation<\/strong>\u00a0consists of any chemical or physical process that leads to the elimination of any living microbial form, both pathogenic and not, including spores and fungi.<\/p>\n<p>A material is considered sterile if the\u00a0<strong>SAL (sterility safety level)<\/strong>\u00a0is less than 10-6, i.e. when the probability of finding a microorganism is less than one in a million.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Lorenzo Andaloro\u2019s Podology Studio only uses sterile or\u00a0single-use instruments.
